If you are seeking historical and archaeological proof of the stories of the Bible, want to learn more about how the church came to be, and want to hear stories of faith, Dig Into the Bible is for you.
In 2016, I was sitting in church one Sunday when our pastor, Craig Bowers, preached a sermon on “How we know the Bible is reliable.”
That day, Pastor Craig opened our eyes to how much historical evidence there is to back up our faith. I was so captivated by this compelling evidence, I wrote this article about how impressively reliable our Bible actually is.

This structure marks the site of the tomb where Jesus was buried.
A few months after I heard Pastor Craig’s sermon, I travelled to Israel with my husband on a work trip. Putting my feet on the ground in the Holy Land was another level of awe and inspiration. That felt like the most exciting thing that ever happened to me.
These two experiences awakened in me a love for all things related to Bible history. Each new archaeological discovery is a treasure.
These days, most people do not know anything about church history or even ancient history.
Many people have no faith because they have no reason for faith. I want to make these historical facts and artifacts more widely known to people. That is one of my missions in creating digintothebible.com.

Hearing the story of how the Bible came to be and seeing the archaeological evidence for the stories in it is incredibly faith affirming. So many people wonder, “Did Jesus even exist?” Once you know your history, you know he absolutely did exist. From there, the question is only who do you believe he was (or is!).
Faith came very naturally to me. Even before I began to go to church, as a four-year-old child, I instinctively knew God was real. I couldn’t wait to learn more about him.
For me, the greatest affirmations of faith in God is the way He has walked with me and provided for me all of my life. I have so many stories, so many answered prayers.
Here at Dig into the Bible, I want to share all of these stories.
We will talk about archaeology finds that support the Bible, church history, answered prayers, and God stories of all kinds. I want this to be a place where you can learn more about Jesus and what believing in Jesus means.
I am not a preacher, a perfect person, or even a Bible school graduate. My degree (from the University of Alabama) is in psychology. I’m just an ordinary person with a passion for this topic. What I have to share will come from other experts and their discoveries, my own studies on these topics, and the experiences of myself and others.
